Diabetics: Beware! Sharad Pawar is coming

With the rising sugar prices here is a bad news for Diabetics who benevolently have been trying to exhibit their calm, that the rise did not affect them. They were wrong. Amidst the havoc, Sharad Pawar’s interpretation and solution to the problem has given it a new dimension. “Not eating sugar won’t kill you”, he says in his party magazine, Rastravadi. This statement in itself contains a lot deeper meaning waiting to be unearthed.
Primary interpretation:
1.- Sugar is not necessary.
2. We need to at least wait till the point it becomes killing, which means we are losing our patience too early.
3. Practicing patience, we need to stop eating sugar.
Secondary Interpretations
4.- And practicing charity we need to give/donate excess sugar, we carry.
5. It means if you have excess sugar in your body, and you are not willingly parting with it, u r a culprit.
All culprits need to be targeted and there may be a possibility that excess sugar be extracted out of your body to satisfy the need of the ones lacking it.
May be Sharadji is thinking of organizing blood sugar donation camps. With crores and crores of diabetics in the country, just imagine what revolutionary novelty is going to take place.
On the other hand reports from far off study, knowingly/unknowingly have come out with a study that consume something sweet before taking a decision, it sweetens your thoughts and makes you take wise decisions. Sharad ji, please note.

Amitabh Bachhan would be all puzzled, Chini kam mein Jiya chali gayi…..Ab chini kam mein hi Jiya jayega.

Have a sweet Life..

Its winter time and this is exactly what the students & teachers of different schools are uttering. This, at least in Meerut, where the schools have been asked to observe holidays for a couple f more days due to the falling temperature.
It’s a welcome feast for the teachers and the students but there are certain schools who relentlessly oppose this notion as they feel this adversely affects the studies. Truly so but then winters in this part of the country are not so unpredictable. Why the school calendar is not prepared anticipating the facts?

Also, parents clutter the telephone lines of newspaper and other related offices to enquire whether or not the authorities are declaring extension of vacations. If parents really feel the weather is not fit to send their wards out, why do they send them? If they are ready to send their children to the school if it is opening, it means they are just looking for a reason to avoid the morning homework themselves. This justifies the schools point of view.
Attendance may be a reason, but if the child is regular, this can be dealt with.

On one hand we don’t want our children to go out in the cold and on the other hand there are thousands that are bound to spend their nights out in the open. There are no holidays for them and they are the one with nature. So much so that many a times they mix with nature to non existence.
“Arpan” – did come as a blessing for them but it still leaves a lot of scope. Such weather is a calamity for them and can only be dealt with proper planning and possible public participation. This is another aspect to peep into, by the authorities.

One point No one

Aaahhhh !! At last, controversy sees its way through the 3 idiots. Behind every successful film is a controversy. All was never well for Chetan and waiting for the right time he has started crying foul.
Yes, its been proven, although a bit late, but yes. So the fight that has to be between the Director Rajkumar Hirani, Script writer Abhijit Joshi has been meticulously shifted to Aamir vs. Bhagat as this match will attract maximum viewers.
Vidhu Vinod Chopra was seen losing his temper yesterday during a press conference with Aamir calming the atmosphere down and later giving his in-valuable suggestion on the topic.
Why did Chetan kept quiet for so long? The movie was released more than a week back and has already exceeded the expected profit. And moreso the story of the movie theme being inspired from “five point someone” was in the air since months, Chetan’s sleepy reaction seems more like a political melodrama. Any controversial report is tabled at a carefully and cautiously chosen time & place.
The reason may be, he never expected the film to be such big hit. To negate the point, Aamir’s inclusion in the film was the first clue of its being hit. Afterall why will Aamir risk his success in his once in a while movie.
Then Chetan might have been promised something big which obviously was not given. He is such a prolific writer and he could have written down a contract, a usual professional practice. Why was this not done? If it was, talk with facts in hand. Chetan needs to understand the reality. The reality he told to Aamir, as of course being claimed. ,
He may be a victim of false trust. He’ll say he believed Aamir and now feels like being stabbed on his back. Whatever it be the viewers are excited…the readers are excited.
Those who have read the book are more keen to watch the idiots on screen and those who have watched the movie may get keen to read the next novel of Chetan.
So who is the loser in this controversy?
One point No one.
There is some Sunshine & some rain for everyone.
As Chetan Bhagat races to climb the popularity chart on Aamir’s back let me tell you, Chetan , 35, is an Indian author who has written Five Point Someone – What not to do at IIT , One Night @ the Call Center, The Three Mistakes of My Life and 2 States – The Story Of My Marriage. He has also written the script of Hello, the Hindi movie based on One Night @ the Call Center.

ARPAN…

Filed under: Uncategorized — jeewanjoshi @ 6:26 am

ARPAN (a social initiative of Dainik Jagran) believes in making little differences… and that beliefs begins with improving lives of others … little by little…Arpan’s been paving its way ahead successfully with a mission to serve humanity by supporting needy & poor people by providing warmth in form of clothes.
As this campaign has gained momentum in entire DJ Domain & we have got tremendous response from all walks of life for supporting those who are often neglected by us.

We collect new & old clothes like shawls, jersey, razai, blankets, shirts, trousers, suit- salwar, children clothes, shoes, bed sheets, coat etc from our readers which we further distribute to the needy at the extreme end like those working at construction sites, traffic lights, orphanages, under flyovers and on road side. This campaign has been appreciated by masses as they feel that it is one of those projects which a business house could take up for the growth & benefit of the society.

Dainik Jagran has been doing it since years at its own level, however we feel if spread across in a wider domain it will benefit more and more individuals.

It is really painful to witness people bound to spend chilling winters at places we can’t even imagine. The rickshaw pullers, labourers, children, females are cursed to sleep in pavements, footpaths, open varendas of shops etc. Our contribution can at least provide some warmth to their bodies.

Hence, this request, from Dainik Jagran to generously donate the required items in your area so that we can carry out this responsibility well & wide.

For further details you can refer to Dainik Jagran or visit http://in.jagran.yahoo.com/epaper/

For a change forward this mail too, to as many people. Lets make some difference.

Warm Regards,

BAJAJ ko TATA

Filed under: Uncategorized — jeewanjoshi @ 6:50 am

Tata Bajaj…

Once a synonym of luxury, then of comfort, going on to become a necessity, the bajaj scooter unfortunately is to fade into oblivion.
The “Buland bharat ki buland tasweer..” will get faded too with the exit of this two wheeler that carried the complete 2/2 family to all places. Even today almost every 3rd two wheeler will be a Bajaj Scooter. “Chetak” the flagship brand of Bajaj scooters was almost a status symbol of all middle class families. We as youngsters may feel scooters as outdated mode of transport but talk to the one in his 60’s, 50’s or even 40’s of his thoughts for this elegant spacious vehicle and he will definitely turn nostalgic.
But the “Fill it- Forget it” campaign of Hero Honda in mid 90’s really kick started the whitewash. Gradually motorbikes replaced the choice of scooters and by the end of 90’s and beginning of 2K bikes went ahead conquering the ‘Taj’ of middle class youth.
“Thoda jhukao and it will start..” I still do not understand the technicality of this process but bajaj scooter has been famous for this. If it doesn’t start in the first kick, you tilt it towards the side of the kick and lol’ there it is …
There is a joke for this uniqueness…
“ Once when in the US a space shuttle failed to take off after several attempts, an Indian scientist suggested this technique. The shuttle was made to tilt left and right and ultimately took off successfully…..The scientist suggesting the idea, obviously owned a bajaj scooter.”
Well, change is permanent and good to see the change is happening for good. With rising fuel prices and high emission levels it is but imperative to have newer technology ruling the roads.
So goodbye to all LML’s and bajaj’s. Lambretta has been out of the way since long.
Now as we emotional Indians will make a movie on this nostalgia, write blogs, create communities, fanclubs and don’t know what else, I bid adieu to Humara Bajaj….
lets fill & forget.

Regards.

Daddy to Paa

Filed under: Uncategorized — jeewanjoshi @ 11:43 am

Progeria, a name that was unheard of before Paa hit the box office. Immediately after Taare Zameen par, was a superhit, producers started feeling a need of similar stories. Dyslexia, however was a much common disorder than what Paa reflected. However a disease was picked up and turned into a protagonist. Added by the presence of Amitabh & Abhishek the story moved on to be a good touching movie.

Indian cinema from time to time has produced movies that greatly inspire. From Anand with Rajesh Khanna playing the ever enthusiastic and optimistic cancer patient to Mera Naam Joker, The Raj Kapoor’smagnum opus Classic, which initially was derailed but later continued to be considered one of the best portrayals of human emotions. In modern day cinema, Lagaan, Yuva, Rang de Basanti to name a few inspired youngsters to some extent.

However we started with rare diseases being used to lure viewers. But why only rare ones? Human psychology. If the disease we talk about is rare the hype building will be an easy process. The more common the topic especially in case of a disorder or a disease, viewers will be rare.
Also it is a fact that the medical and health knowledge has been far more spreading spree than anything else. We really cannot expect curious entertainment out of a heart attack episode. Ha ha…see the way we are talking about deadly, dreaded diseases. Someone’s nightmare will someday be telecast live. Sach ka saamna has happened. Reality shows are on the high.

Some are for the good and some themselves don’t know why they are…

Do these movies actually touch us or simply entertain? I think if we be positive we’ll certainly watch what the story tells us. The strong the packaging the more will be the impact.

Daddy, with Anupam Kher and Pooja Bhatt and Paa are similar in approach as both touch the sensitive relation of a child and a father.

I just wait for fresher topics.

“GAY” & Happy…

Filed under: Uncategorized — jeewanjoshi @ 9:54 am

gay-testThe Gay Parade in Bangalore has raised another debate in the country. The unity of the concerned community is reflected from the various parades carried out in different parts of the country.

They are demanding repeal of Article 377 & the main arguments to repeal this act are:

It violation of the right to life as a result of HIV/AIDS prevention work being impeded, and the MSM (Gay) community going underground, i.e., refusing to publicly avail of HIV-prevention options such as condoms, out of fear of being arrested
this law’s proscription of “non-procreative sexual activity” violates the right to life because a person’s sexual preferences are an inalienable component of this right.
It enables and perpetuates social stigma and police abuse
What is Governments argument not to repeal this act?

Section 377 has been applied to cases of assault where bodily harm is intended and deletion of the said section can well open the floodgates of delinquent behaviour and be misconstrued as providing unbridled license for the same
Section 377 reveal that it has been basically used in India to punish sexual abuse of children and to complement lacunae in the rape laws.

Doesn’t it seem much similar to that of Article 376 which advocates harsh punishment for rape?

Can anyone tell, how many compaints have been registered under section 377 and why ? The number may be meagre not only because of the lack of knowledge but also because of the various social adversities attached to this.

Do we intend to make it like section 376 and wait for the day when we come accross rape cases within the same gender ? Afterall sexual relations between two different sexes is very much legal and acceptable. But rape cases mostly happen in this section. Some may argue this to be a natural phenomenon of the attraction towards opposite sex…In that case, what we are fighting for now, is un-natural….

So in this case will the law of Natural justice prevail ?

People may argue endlessly for & against the same but this is not the first time law of nature is to break. And also fantasy too in a sense is natural, how you enjoy it, is all but your choice.

Its just that we need not blindly follow the west. Its the direction where the Sun sets….Lets face the sunlight to avoid seeing the shadows.

No GYAN….only ABHIMAAN

Thats the way it is..!
Thats the way it is..!

of them have made quite a differ

Women !
I respect them in every form and have so many of them close to me in different roles.
My mother, my sister, my cousins, my friends, my colleagues so many ence to my life. More so I personally find my relationships with most females in my life quite enriching and fulfilling. .
I am against the hue and cry that is made for any incident involving the fairer sex. Talking of an equal share and equal standing they become so demanding that often ignore family & cultural values. They tend to be more feminine than human.
Our society owns quite a number of families where the female is a housewife and flourishes well with her husbands high & affluent social status. She may not be educated a lot and may even be illiterate but enjoys good understanding and gathers equal respect from her husband’s social circle. “Mrs.Gurusharan Kaur”, the wife of our Prime Minister has been interviewed by several channels and she has won a few accolades for the success of her Husband, humbly agreed upon by the PM himself.
Does anyone know Mr. Devisingh Ramsingh Shekhawat ?
Heard the name for the first time? He is the husband of our dearly respected President Mrs. Pratibha Devi Singh Patil. Not that he is being subdued. Not that he is being made to be aloof. May be that’s his choice.
Women have always been looked upon as the most respected segment of the Indian society. “Jatr narye pujyanti…ramante tatra devta.” Meaning “ God resides where the female is respected” Now do the Amnesty International and the human right people have to tell us of the state of women here.
So many women right cells have cropped up and leave no stone unturned to raise issues which could have been settled, had they not intervened. They may be right in certain cases but in most of the cases they miss the aim.
They never are present at places where they are actually needed the most. The villages. If they could just pay a visit there to witness the real situation of women, of children, of senior citizens. Women there, have to go several kilometers to fetch water. They work & work the day long and can barely manage meal twice a day. What mental, physical & psychological torture they go through, every moment they live.
The educated lot, the city dwellers have to face the music only because that will bring them to limelight. If they actually aim at empowering women why don’t they think of the situation of women in the rural part of the nation…more in number and worse in condition?
Feminism is strength. It is something to be proud of. Just like the other gender. An individual real proud and confident of himself or herself never complains. The Indian feminine personality was cast to play a role. The cultural set up had a definite and a very important role for the housewife. She played that role and lived her life to the full as years went by and she found her world in her family, her husband, and her children. Her lifetime achievement was a well behaved, healthy and a settled child.
Things have changed. It is the need of the hour that the cultural and societal setup is changing. We are moving towards a nuclear lifestyle and women too are in the process of acquiring a new role. The change is happening. This is so sudden and fast that we do not even have time to react. The cities are changing at hi tech speed and the villages still are trying to understand what’s happening ?
It is time that we spread Gyan and not abhiman. The women organisations are only hitting the latter. They want all women to run and run fast. They are not training them to cope with the change. This holds true for men too. Everyone resists change and this is reality.
There is no question of right or wrong. There has to be a direction. “Females should be protected”, yell the women organizations. “We are equal to men”, they shout at the same time.
They advocate special laws for women, reservation everywhere, separate queues at al possible places, safety at workplace, rules to avoid possible exploitation in families. Nobody explains why? It is because a separate role is being expected out of women.
Tell them being a daughter, a sister, a friend, a mother or a grandma is no more important.
The only thing important is being a woman……And there is no difference between a man & a woman. You can do what you want, inspite the physical, psychological differences which are skillfully ignored. No role matters. The only thing that matters is that you should be treated equal. If you are denied that, you have every right and every support that may or may not be required. Sensitivity takes the backseat and you tend to be driven by swollen effigies. No logic, just false excitement of achieving ……..nothing.
Everyone is trying to inflate herself/himself up with that sense of false pride. Nobody is seeking any knowledge.
Today what we need is prevention of cultural breakdown which should not be gender, age, creed based. We need to understand the world has suddenly opened up. There are so many things pouring in. We have hundreds of channels to watch, numerous newspaers and magazines to read, thousands of websites to visit and so many rules to break. The challenge is to manage the change already happening.
But everyone is involved in precipitating change process. This will create confusion. This will lead to unfair practices. This will lead to breaking more rules. Time to wake up.
This abhimaan without gyan is responsible for most of the societal decay of values.
As Shiney practices introspection in solitude with his wife continuing to support him with full confidence lets prey justice is done to him.

Warm Regards,

Jeewan

Today….

I have Today in hand..

I just lost
the way to myself
walking alone by my past
I glimpsed my future
standing there, smiling
it just glanced
on my past
that stood there too..
with wide open arms
ready to embrace me
to its soft bosom..
I just thought I’ve got myself
as I drowned myself in its sanctity
I was loving the warmth
I just lost
the warmth
as my past shrieked
to non existence
my present just overran it
with hawking speed
it flew
grabbing me by my arms
pulling me away from my beloved
& I still saw my past’s meloncholic smile
growing bigger & bigger
with each passing moment
adding to its life
I just lost
the moment
I looked at the present
It stood there right beside me
again smiling
like a newly wedded wife
standing by her husbands side
it was here to reside
I thought his eyes were just as mine
his dress too, reflected my choice
I observed closely: realizing his voice
was my echo
I was amused & confused
at the same time
almost a mime
I thought whether he imitated me
or I copied him
my present is a puzzle
& I find myself trapped
in the visious trap
I just lost
myself to illusion
cannot stand the confusion
I can’t find anyone….
my past hinting me the solution
pushing me to “Deja-vu”
I remembered I have to be calm
ignoring the devil dancing
I resorted to silence
ending the violence
of confusing thoughts
I found the draughts
ending
I realised my present sitting beside me
in silence
and heard a whisper…
my past just gave me the “sutra”
of this puzzle
my present is a reflection
of my own selection
it will laugh
if you smile
if you walk
it will walk a mile
I turned back with gratitude
it stared… as if I was rude
“Look ahead future is waiting
and he is all alone….
keep giving me moments of happiness and pride
and I’ll keep walking by your side
“What if I lose you” I plead…”
“You will !” if you continue to dread
just keep walking ahead
the script is well written
twice shy if once bitten
don’t repeat the faults
do not mistake the halts
to be permanent
never say you’ve lost
coz’ you only lose if you lose the learning
that’s the earning
you have for future
who is waiting for you with open arms
to hold you close
I don’t have to lose is what I understand …
for like a renewed energy source..
NOW..I have today in hand…

“KAMINE” se bahut ummeedein hain…

Ishq KaminaShahid and Priyanka are soon to hit the box office with “Kamine” and proudly they proclaim it to be a superhit. “Humein ‘ KAMINE’se bahut ummeeden hain”…Ironical but true as Indian middle class is all set to digest all this and more.
“Pappu can’t dance saala” was easily acceptable and so was bhootni ke. You can now hear the song being played in most of the kitty and birthday parties. Ishq kamina raised no eyebrows. So whats the future has in store? Don’t know.
Although the film makers due to all obvious reasons are constantly in search of film titles that attract the audience. Youth consist of a major chunk of the same and to attract them its easier to get a name that hits them direct. But at what cost. The censor board should, in my view eye these.
I remember Dharmendra with his famous iconic dialogue “ …..khoon pi jaunga” Although this was considered to be a reaction of a man who was raging with anger. Today, the heroine sings to the tune of it.
From Choli ke piche to bhootni ke the worst affected are the children. The arguement in favor of the same may be that it all is happening so casually that no one tends to notice. But there needs to be a check to this. Somewhere there has to a limit. Not that I am on a society cleansing spree.
It’s just that your child should not wake you up in the morning saying something, he shouldn’t.
Just imagine.
